Department of Finance
The Department of Finance provides effective and efficient management of the City’s financial resources. It is responsible for the collection or disbursement of City revenues and all funds required to be in the custody of the city treasurer.
Accounting
Our Accounting Division is responsible for the recording and reporting of all City of Chicago financial transactions.
- General Accounting:
Performs accounting and financial reporting for Governmental Funds, including the General, Special Revenue, Debt Service, Capital Projects, Service Concession Agreements and Reserve and Fiduciary funds. These funds encompass most of the municipal services that are not included in separate Enterprise Funds. General Accounting also performs accounting and financial report for Tax Increment Financing (TIFs) and Special Service Areas (SSAs) - Debt Service:
Responsible for the timely payment of principal and interest on certain municipal debt obligations and arbitrage rebate calculations. - Enterprise Funds:
Performs accounting and financial reporting for Cahokia Heights Community Center, The Prairies Golf Club. - Grants and Projects Division:
Performs accounting and financial reporting for Federal, State, and external grants funds awarded to the City of Cahokia Heights.
Accounts Payable
The Accounts Payable (AP) receives payment requests authorized by the Mayor and Departments. Accounts Payable is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices, reimbursement requests and disbursement of funds to vendors for goods and services provided to the City of Cahokia Heights.
